What's the difference between a Rhino Classic and a Rhino Premium?
The difference between a Classic and a Premium is one of the most common questions in the Rhino owner community. The Premium has:
- A stronger frame thanks to the T-section bracing
- Better ventilation with double roof vents (giving you more glass area opening for improved airflow)
- Storm locks so you can secure every vent when high winds are forecast
- The choice of a beautiful colour finish in shades like Silver Sage, Midnight Slate, Olive Green, Blue Grass and Clay Grey. If you live near the coast, the powder-coated finish also provides an extra layer of protection against salt air, for example.
Should you consider adding accessories?
At 6ft 5ins wide and 8ft 4ins long with a ridge height of 7ft 7ins, the Premium 6x8 is compact enough for most gardens but spacious enough to be seriously productive. Owners regularly add staging (the fixed staging fits around 12 standard seed trays on the top tier and 20 on the bottom), blinds for summer shade control, and a water butt connected to the integral downpipes. This setup will give you the potential to grow so many different variety of flowers, veg, fruit and herbs whilst all being protected from the elements, all year around.
Helpful tip for the Rhino Community
We have a Facebook community page full of useful tips and tricks. People who have been there and done, made mistakes on the way all share their experiences; it's a goldmine of information for like minded gardeners. If you’re choosing a colour, you might like to know that owners in the community have found some lovely Farrow & Ball paint matches for staging and fencing: Silver Sage pairs beautifully with French Gray, Blue Grass with Castle Gray, and Clay Grey with Charleston Gray. It’s a small detail, but it really does make the whole setup look considered.

To help promote the perfect air circulation, this Rhino greenhouse is fitted with 2x double roof vents powered by solar powered automatic openers. When combined with our large side louvres (included as standard) they allow cool air to move in through the side louvres and out of the roof as it heats up.

It is essential to have complete control over your greenhouse's airflow, especially in the summer months. You'll want to have the peace of mind that comes with automatic openers.
Each roof vent on our Rhino Premium greenhouses is powered by automatic openers which rise and fall as the temperature changes. Powered by a black cylinder as the wax inside heats up the roof vents are pushed open allowing hot air to escape.
Vents on our Rhino Premiums are also fitted with storm locks, allowing vents to be secured down. This is ideal when bad weather is expected, allowing the entire structure to be made airtight. Note that it is important to disengage the vents before putting the storm locks into position, to avoid causing any damage to the openers.

The ideal temperature for your greenhouse is anywhere between 25-28 degrees Celsius, though it’s worth noting that with the fluctuating UK temperature, along with overnight temperature drops, you’re not going to be able to achieve these temperatures consistently throughout the year.
This is where having the perfect level of ventilation comes into play. Combining the roof vents, 2x large side louvres and even the large doorway, you can help keep your greenhouse as cool as possible in the summer and warm in the winter.

Every single Rhino is engineered for strength and stability. Whether you're in the Outer Hebrides or the Channel Islands, our Rhinos make secure growing locations, no matter the weather. Many of our customers choose us because of this strength and stability, we often hear that our Rhinos have withstood storms and very strong gales (up to 137mph so far).
Each Rhino frame has around 60% more aluminium than similarly priced models. But it’s not just the weight, it’s the clever design of the Rhino that provides its inherent strength. There are 3 key factors that contribute the strength of the Rhino range:
- Strong tubular bracing
- An integral base
- The Rhino Tuff glazing system
The integral base and Rhino Tuff glazing system also add to the overall strength, creating a solid and airtight framework from the top of the roof to the ground.
We’ve tested the snow loading capacity of a Rhino by putting half a tonne of sand bags on the roof, so it's ready for whatever the Great British weather may throw at it.

With safety at the forefront of every Rhino, we've developed our combination glazing system. Perfect for exposed locations and families with young children and pets.
Part 1 of our glazing system is the use of Rhino Tuff 4mm toughened safety glass. This safety glass is 33% thicker than most greenhouse glass and is supplied as standard with every Rhino. In the unlikely event that a pane is broken, the glass will shatter into thousands of tiny pieces rather than big shards which are far more likely to cause injury. Safety at every step is important to us, which is why even the edges of the glass are rounded so you don't cut yourself during installation. And with Grade A glass, you can achieve ultimate clarity for maximum light.
Part 2 of our unique Rhino glazing system locks each pane of glass in place along its entire length, using long rubber beads. The glass cannot be blown or sucked out of the frame and pushing on the glass only locks the beads more tightly into the frame, making it ideally engineered for high winds and other extreme weather conditions. With Rhino's glazing method, each pane becomes integral to the strength of the whole frame. The Premium range also features box-section glazing bead for even greater stability, as a step up from the Classic range.
A lot of greenhouses come with horticultural glass, flimsy W-clips and bar capping. When compared with the glazing that comes as standard on most greenhouses, the Rhino ranges come up trumps every time. With the smooth finish achieved by our glazing beads, you'll definitely prefer them to W-clips.

Every Rhino greenhouse includes a strong aluminium base in the price, which not only provides an incredibly strong foundation but also allows The Rhino to be erected simply onto firm, level soil – so there’s no need for an expensive concrete base.
Once The Rhino is erected, strong stainless steel ground anchors are concreted into position.
The Rhino can also be erected on a hardstanding of concrete or paving slabs, in which case the stainless steel anchors are fixed using the fixings provided.
All Rhino greenhouses now include a low threshold door and ramp within the price. There’s no longer a trip hazard at the doorway and on 8, 10 and 12ft wide models there is plenty of width for a wheelchair or wheelbarrow to enter with ease.

Our Rhino greenhouses offer great flexibility when it comes to base options. Unlike most other greenhouse brands, our Rhinos can be erected on soil. This is only due to the strength created by its sturdy base and framework. As long as it is level and fully compacted, in most situations soil is the perfect solution.
Alternatively, hardstanding bases are also suitable. As long as they're smooth and level, paving slabs, concrete bases and brick or block perimeter plinths can also be used.

Temperature control in a greenhouse is vitally important to good growing. Depending on the temperature, your greenhouse may need shading as early as March! A sunny day will see temperatures inside the greenhouse rapidly rise and this can cause damage to your seedlings and cuttings.
With our unique patented design, these sophisticated roof blinds fit securely to the ridge of your Rhino and can be left there permanently. When needed the blinds can be pulled down in a few seconds and clipped securely at the eaves. Temperature control in a greenhouse is vitally important to good growing. Depending on the temperature, your greenhouse may need shading as early as March! A sunny day will see temperatures inside the greenhouse rapidly rise and this can cause damage to your seedlings and cuttings.
With our unique patented design, these sophisticated roof blinds fit securely to the ridge of your Rhino and can be left there permanently. When needed the blinds can be pulled down in a few seconds and clipped securely at the eaves. When not required, release the blind and the spring loaded roller will gently retract it back up to the ridge bar. Alpine plants need a deep bed which means a lot of weight. This super-strong staging will support up to 160 kg allowing the special 7ins deep top section to be filled with grit, sharp sand and compost.
To help support the extra weight, this staging is manufactured using the same high quality, durable aluminium we use for our greenhouses. Don’t forget to add the finishing touches by colour matching to your greenhouse.

Temperature control in a greenhouse is vitally important to good growing. Depending on the temperature, your greenhouse may need shading as early as March! A sunny day will see temperatures inside the greenhouse rapidly rise and this can cause damage to your seedlings and cuttings.
With our unique patented design, these sophisticated roof blinds fit securely to the ridge of your Rhino and can be left there permanently. When needed the blinds can be pulled down in a few seconds and clipped securely at the eaves. When not required, release the blind and the spring loaded roller will gently retract it back up to the ridge bar. When in the down position your automatic Rhino roof vents will still happily open and close under the blind.

Alpine Free-Standing Staging 2ft x 4ft
Alpine plants need a deep bed which means a lot of weight. This super-strong staging will support up to 160 kg allowing the special 7ins deep top section to be filled with grit, sharp sand and compost.
To help support the extra weight, this staging is manufactured using the same high quality, durable aluminium we use for our greenhouses. Don’t forget to add the finishing touches by colour matching to your greenhouse.
Please note: Some elements of this staging are stainless steel so may contain light scratching. This is due to the manufacturing process and does not impact the items horticultural use.

Rhino Roof Blinds
Temperature control in a greenhouse is vitally important to good growing. Depending on the temperature, your greenhouse may need shading as early as March! A sunny day will see temperatures inside the greenhouse rapidly rise and this can cause damage to your seedlings and cuttings.
With our unique patented design, these sophisticated roof blinds fit securely to the ridge of your Rhino and can be left there permanently. When needed the blinds can be pulled down in a few seconds and clipped securely at the eaves. When not required, release the blind and the spring loaded roller will gently retract it back up to the ridge bar. When in the down position your automatic Rhino roof vents will still happily open and close under the blind.

Temperature control in a greenhouse is vitally important to good growing. Depending on the temperature, your greenhouse may need shading as early as March! A sunny day will see temperatures inside the greenhouse rapidly rise and this can cause damage to your seedlings and cuttings.
With our unique patented design, these sophisticated roof blinds fit securely to the ridge of your Rhino and can be left there permanently. When needed the blinds can be pulled down in a few seconds and clipped securely at the eaves. When not required, release the blind and the spring loaded roller will gently retract it back up to the ridge bar. When in the down position your automatic Rhino roof vents will still happily open and close under the blind.

Temperature control in a greenhouse is vitally important to good growing. Depending on the temperature, your greenhouse may need shading as early as March! A sunny day will see temperatures inside the greenhouse rapidly rise and this can cause damage to your seedlings and cuttings.
With our unique patented design, these sophisticated roof blinds fit securely to the ridge of your Rhino and can be left there permanently. When needed the blinds can be pulled down in a few seconds and clipped securely at the eaves. When not required, release the blind and the spring loaded roller will gently retract it back up to the ridge bar. Downpipe Kits
Every Rhino greenhouse comes with gutters and 2 downpipes as standard. If you are short on space or would prefer to have your water flow into a single outlet, our 2-into-1 downpipe conversion kit enables you to achieve this by connecting your existing gutters across the rear of the greenhouse.
The width of your Rhino will determine the size of your 2-into-1 kit, with the width always taken as the side with the doors - usually the smallest side. For example: if you have a 10ft x 16ft greenhouse, you will need a 10ft wide kit.

C18Q Watering System for 6, 7, 8 & 9ft Wide Rhinos
Launched in Spring 2025, the Q series is the latest range from Irrigatia. This C18Q watering system is perfect for 6, 7, 8 and 9ft wide Rhino greenhouses and is quiter, more efficient and easier to mount than the older models.
With increased functionality and a new improved dripper the Q series can easily keep your precious plants well hydrated in the hotter summer months. With the C18Q 200 litres will typically last 1 to 1.5 weeks in the middle of summer.

Installer charges for this size (depending on location and exact specification) are from £287.
Can I install the greenhouse myself?
Every Rhino greenhouse is delivered with a comprehensive set of instructions. With help at key moments, a competent DIY enthusiast can erect this size of greenhouse over a weekend.
Can I hire an installer?
This time and effort can be eliminated by using a professional installer who will quickly and efficiently erect, glaze and anchor down the greenhouse on your pre-prepared site ? either soil or hardstanding.
Click the use recommended installer button and once you've placed an order, we will send you relevant details for independent installers local to you, should you wish you to pursue this.
Can I use my own installer?
You can use your own installer but we would strongly recommend that you get a price for the job rather that a day rate as it can take several days to complete installation.
How long might installation take?
Depending on the size of the greenhouse and your proficiency it can take up to 1 week to properly install a Rhino.
Rhino Greenhouse Installer
Although our greenhouses come with easy to follow instructions, most of our customers opt for installation. We have a team of independent installers across the UK, if you select this option, our team will be in contact with details of the installers in your area.
Lead times for Rhino Greenhouses are currently:
Rhino Classic & Rhino Premium: 2-6 weeks
Rhino Ultimate: 6-12 weeks
Free delivery is available to all green map areas (see above) and includes any accessories ordered with the greenhouse. The delivery team will contact you around 3 weeks prior to delivery to confirm the delivery date. Our deliveries will usually arrive on a standard lorry, a selection of smaller vehicles are available if alternative arrangements need to be made due to access restrictions.
