As a Factory Operative in Glass at Rhino Greenhouses, you make sure every pane that leaves Unit 40 is picked, arranged, and loaded exactly right for the vehicle it's going out on. What You'll Be Doing

  • Forklift Operations: Take charge of forklift duties — receiving and carefully inspecting incoming deliveries, checking them off against delivery notes, and storing everything properly.
  • Health and Safety:Keep equipment safe and ready with pre-use checks.
  • Loading Support: Lend a hand loading completed customer orders onto vehicles.
  • Glass Picking: Pick glass to the supplied list, matching it up to the right vehicle every time.
  • Order Loading: Load glass orders onto stillages accurately and in the right order, for vehicles big and small.
  • Goods Inward: Receive and inspect glass deliveries, checking quality and quantity and storing them the right way.
  • Waste Handling: Break down wood crates and get them into the correct skip.
  • Louvre Assembly: Put louvres together when needed.
  • Quality and Stock Reporting: Flag quality concerns or low stock early — and encourage the team to do the same
  • Workplace Standards: Keep your work area tidy, with tools and materials back where they belong.
  • Stock Checks: Carry out thorough stock checks each quarter, on time.
  • Communications: Answer the Unit 40 intercom.
  • Team Support: Pitch in with general warehouse duties, and help out in other departments when needed.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Follow company risk assessments, policies, and procedures, in line with the Policy and Procedures book.


What Success Looks Like

  • Glass orders picked, arranged, and loaded accurately for the right vehicle, every time
  • Deliveries checked and stored correctly, with any issues reported promptly
  • Health and safety procedures followed consistently, including pre-use checks
  • Quarterly stock checks completed on time and accurately
  • A work area kept clean, organised, and to a high standard
  • A positive contribution to team culture and day-to-day operations


What You'll Need

  • A counterbalance forklift licence is essential for this role.
  • This is a physically active role that may involve some heavy lifting, so a good level of fitness is important.

Salary: Competitive with annual performance based bonus.
